My Story

I didn't grow up with financial education. Like a lot of people, I learned the hard way — overspending, living paycheck to paycheck, not knowing where my money actually went.

When I finally got serious about my finances, I tried everything: Mint, YNAB, spreadsheets. They either wanted my bank credentials, cost too much to be worth it, or required a finance degree to operate. None of them felt like they were built for real people with real, complicated lives.

So I built ZhanPlan for myself first. A tool that didn't ask for my bank password. That let me import my own statements. That showed me exactly where my money was going — and what to do about it.

Then I started coaching clients one-on-one, mostly families and individuals who were stuck in the same loop I'd been in. I kept giving them the same advice: know your cash flow, track your spending, pay off debt strategically, build a net worth. ZhanPlan became the tool I used with every client.

I built the family sharing feature because couples kept telling me they were fighting about money — not because of the money itself, but because they didn't have a shared picture of it. I built the coach portal because I needed it. I built the Health Score because "you should do better with money" is useless advice — you need a single number that tells you where you actually stand.

ZhanPlan isn't built for investors or tech people. It's built for the person who finally decided to get serious — and needs a tool that respects that decision.
